Breeder of The Dogue de Bordeaux
Having young children with a husband that occasionally travels, I wanted to find a breed of dog that would fit my situation. I wanted to have a dog that gave me a sense of security without being in fear of my children being around an overly aggressive dog. I searched and searched for a dog with a calm loving temperament, loyalty to its family, gentleness with children, and of course a great physical presence. Again and again I was led to the Dogue de Bordeaux. After months of research, I found Dogue de Bordeaux to be my perfect dog.
In my experience with raising young children around Dogue de Bordeax I can honestly say that having them as an integral part of the household has been an enriching experience. Dogue de Bordeaux have helped our children grow up with a sense of security and responsibility. We consider them to be another member of the family that can alway be counted on to provide a source of entertainment, protection, and constant loyal companionship.
Most of my clients are families that have a concern for security. They are interested in a dog that will protect them yet, still interact with family in a loving manner. These qualities can only be found and trusted, in a few breeds. The Dogue de Bordeaux is, in my opinion, the dogue for the job! Dogue de Bordeaux have a higher threshold of tolerance when it comes to their own family and especially "their" children. However, that has to be closely supervised by the parents simply because of the large size and strength of the dogue. Owners have a responsibility to raise these dogues with an extra measure of loving discipline. Educated, responsible owners are a must.
